What is Hybrid Cloud Computing?
Hybrid Cloud is a joint service of the Public Cloud and Private Cloud implemented by an organization / company. In Hybrid Cloud, we can choose which business processes can be moved to the Public Cloud and business processes which have to remain running in the Private Cloud.
For Example:
Company A, hire the services of Windows Azure (Public Cloud) as the “house” is used for the applications they create, but because of laws rules shrimp applicable, customer data from company A should not be placed in a third party, because company A abiding the existing rules, then the data from the customer remain stored in their own database (Private Cloud), and the application will connect to the internal database. Company B, hired the services of the Office 365 (Public Cloud), because the company B already hasĀ Active Directory running on Windows Server that they had (Private Cloud) then we can configure the Active Directory as the identity to login in Office 365.
Advantage:
By using a hybrid cloud, then the data security is assured, because the data can be administered alone (this does NOT mean that stores data in a public cloud is not secure). More flexibility to choose which business processes to keep running in the private cloud and which business processes can be moved to the public cloud while ensuring the integration.
Disadvantage:
For applications that require integration between public cloud and private cloud, then the Internet infrastructure must be considered carefully.
