Mazda RX-Vision Rotary Concept Introduced in Tokyo Motor Show 2015
Mazda Motor Corporation introduced the sports car concept that Mazda RX-Vision. This car uses a rotary engine, as an expression of Mazda’s technology development at the Tokyo Motor Show (TMS) in 2015.
“We at Mazda hopes to continue to express a Mazda’s vision of the future as we have just launched at the Tokyo Motor Show 2015″ said Masamichi Kogai as Representative Director, President and CEO of Mazda Motor Corporation, in a press release of Japan on Thursday.
“Mazda will continue to perform the latest innovations, as a Mazda effort to build a special relationship with all Mazda customers in order to be the only brand that is loved by our customers.” So, Kogai went on to say.
Views of the Mazda RX-Vision is considered to represent the vision of Mazda which will be realized in the future that includes the appearance of the front-engine, sports car equipped with a rear – wheel drive, the proportion of design “Kodo” which is solely owned by Mazda, as well as the latest generation of SKYACTIV-R using a rotary engine.
The Mazda rotary engine has a unique construction which can generate power through the rotary motion of the rotor triangular. Mazda successfully commercialize a rotary machine for the first time into the “Cosmo Sport” (known as the Mazda 110S) in 1967.
As the only automaker to mass produce the rotary engine, Mazda has made continuous efforts in improving the quality of the power generated from the engine to be efficient in fuel use. In 1991, Mazda also won the 24 Hours of Le Mans using race car uses a rotary engine.
