The logo chosen by President Joko Widodo includes a sketch of the top view from the Main Stadium of the Bung Karno Stadium and the sun in the center. The design carries the theme “Energy of Asia”. Regarding the logo, the Minister of Youth and Sports Imam Nahrawi expressed hope that Indonesia could show its prowess through the holding of the 2018 Asian Games.

“The 2018 Asian Games logo illustrates a strong energy in reflecting and promoting Indonesia to the world,” said Imam. “Similar to hosting the 1962 Asian Games, with this new logo, Indonesia as the host is ready to show its identity to the world through successful implementation and achievement,” he said.
This new logo was chosen from 11 works received by the selection committee. The new logo will replace the old logo in the form of bird of paradise feathers. The revised logo is reported to the Indonesian Sports Committee (KOI) and the Indonesia South East Asian Games Organizing Committee (INASOC). to the Asian Olympic Council (OCA).
